What to use it for
These crimpers are designed to make secure, high-strength connections on heavy-duty electrical cables and wires. They are ideal for power transmission, solar power installation and battery cable termination, as these applications require large gauge copper or aluminium lugs to be compressed onto heavy cables.

The 8-tonne hydraulic crimping tool is designed to crimp large lugs and terminals onto heavy-duty cables ranging from 10mm² to 120mm². It provides strong, precise crimps for high-current applications like solar battery banks, inverter systems, and industrial power connections.
Unlike manual crimpers, this tool uses a hydraulic mechanism to generate up to 8 tonnes of pressure with minimal effort. This delivers consistent, high-compression crimps ideal for larger cables that are difficult to crimp by hand.
It creates a hexagonal (hex) crimp, providing even pressure around the lug barrel. This ensures excellent electrical conductivity, mechanical strength, and a professional finish.
Yes. It’s suitable for copper, tinned copper, and aluminium lugs, though copper or tinned copper are most common in solar and automotive use. Always match the correct die size to the cable and lug for a secure fit.
Select the correct die size, insert the lug and stripped cable, close the jaws, and pump the handle until the die closes fully. Once complete, use the quick-release valve to relieve pressure and open the jaws.
Keep the tool clean and dry, lubricate the moving joints, and store it in its carry case when not in use. Regular maintenance, including checking hydraulic seals, will ensure smooth operation and extend the lifespan of the tool.
