They’re commonly used in 12V and 24V DC applications such as dual battery systems, inverters, DC-DC chargers, and other high-amperage accessories found in 4WDs, caravans, camper trailers, and boats.

AMG and Mega fuses are the same type of fuse and the terms are often used interchangeably. Both feature bolt-down terminals, high current ratings (typically 40A–500A), and a compact design for easy installation in fuse blocks or holders. The naming difference usually depends on the manufacturer rather than a technical variation.

Select a fuse rated slightly higher than your circuit’s maximum continuous current draw, but below the current rating of your wiring and connected components. For example, if your inverter draws 120A, you’d typically use a 150A fuse. Always ensure your cable size and fuse rating match to prevent overheating or nuisance tripping.
