Victron Pre-Charge Cable
Victron Pre-charge cable protects your energy system by eliminating inrush current sparks and preventing capacitor damage when connecting high-power inverters to 48V battery banks
Victron Pre-charge cable
Features
- Safely pre-charges internal capacitors of inverters and MPPTs via DC terminals to prevent hazardous arcing and loud sparks
- Eliminates high inrush currents that can damage battery terminals, pit connectors, and stress internal circuitry
- Prevents modern lithium Battery Management Systems (BMS) from tripping during the initial connection of high-capacity loads
- Features an integrated inline electronic module with a yellow LED indicator that confirms when the pre-charge process is complete
- Built with heavy-duty insulated crocodile clips to ensure a secure and reliable temporary connection during system commissioning
- Scalable design allows multiple cables to be used in parallel for large, multi-unit inverter systems (e.g., parallel MultiPlus-II setups)
- Includes reverse polarity protection with a dedicated red LED indicator to safeguard against incorrect wiring
- Ultra-fast operation completes the pre-charge for a single MultiPlus-II 48/5000 in less than one second
Where to use it
The Victron Pre-charge Cable is an essential commissioning tool designed to ensure the safe and spark-free connection of high-power inverters and MPPTs to your battery bank. By gradually charging the internal capacitors of your equipment, this cable eliminates hazardous inrush currents that can lead to connector pitting, component stress, or the accidental tripping of lithium Battery Management Systems (BMS). Featuring intuitive LED indicators for status confirmation and reverse polarity protection, it provides a reliable way to safeguard your 48V energy system during initial setup or maintenance. Compact and easy to use with heavy-duty insulated clips, it is a must-have for professional installers and DIY enthusiasts looking to prolong the lifespan of their power electronics and battery terminals.
